Lived & Loved | Repairs Workshop

The other week, Annie, our in house repairs guru threw her machine (carefully) in the back of the van and sped on down to Falmouth. Setting up in the new store, with trusted colleague Rachel, the SW repairs duo got to work on your old faithfuls and favourite Finisterre clothing. From blown out crotches to an Ekman jacket that came off a motorbike, the girls successfully MOT’d some local gear and got them back on the road.

This was my first chance to run a repairs weekend in the new Falmouth store; we repaired for 4 days solid raising money for Surfers Against Sewage.

Repairs events give us the chance to show everyone how and why we do repairs, it also allows us to share tips with you guys about extending the life of your clothes. This is a huge part of our People, Product, Environment message, which runs through the core of everything we do.

I love hearing the tales from our customers' adventures. How they broke their jackets, how much love they have for the company and the products they own. We got some really interesting things in to fix over the four days, everything from a new Sastruga with a puppy chewed zip to an 11 year old sample that Tom Kay once traded in return for a days modelling. Rach did some awesome magic on an Ekman, the owner had come off his motor bike and shredded one side, the repairs are seamless, see for yourself.

If you’ve got anything in your wardrobe that is looking a little bit sad and needs a repair, give us a ring at the workshop, we’re always happy to chat…

We hate waste and would much rather breathe new life into an old jacket than add it to landfill. We are fortunate enough to have the skills of Annie and her team as she repairs, patches and throws years back into the garments she works on and can even add some original patches so if you want a twist to your repair, just ask!
